Year 3
Welcome to Year 3 at Coulsdon Church of England Primary School
Year 3 is a fantastic year where children transition into Key Stage 2, building on their learning and gaining greater independence and confidence.
Our Year 3 Class
Class Teacher: Mrs. Patel
Our teaching assistants, Mrs Webb and Mrs Earl, provide additional support in Year 3.
What Do We Learn in Year 3?
Here are some of the exciting topics we explore:
-
Caves (Stone Age to Iron Age)
At the start of the Autumn term, Year 3 children become buddies with Reception pupils. During this topic, we create Stone Age cave paintings using sand and chocolate rocks in Science and build soil profiles to understand different layers of soil. -
Romans
-
In this topic, children learn about life during the Roman era and even experience what it was like to be in a volcano eruption.
-
Grow Your Own
During this topic, children plant a variety of fruits and vegetables in the school allotment. We also visit local allotments and Wisley Gardens to see plants growing in different environments.
Extra-Curricular Opportunities
Year 3 children are encouraged to participate in a range of clubs, including:
-
Cross Country
-
Choir
-
Rounders
